May we present you with a tiny object that led to an enormously charming love story.
Sixteen years ago, Frank Lamsens’ girlfriend, Caroline, was preparing for a backpacking trip around Europe. He gave her compass.
“To help me find my way home,” Caroline told us.
Well it worked. Pictured are Frank and Caroline in present day, now with two adorable kids, a pup, and an Heirloomist photograph of the infamous compass. (Their son, Teddy, is holding the actual compass for scale.)
Caroline commissioned the portrait as a gift for Frank. “It is still one of the most sentimental things he has ever given me,” Caroline said.
We’re sending a big thank you to Caroline for this one…small objects hold big meaning and celebrating all the life in them is the reason we do what we do.
