This is a strange thing to admit but when I am out and about on the streets of New York City, I often have an urge to high five FedEx workers out making deliveries. (I wave instead!) I just admire them so much and in a nerdy kind of way, am really fascinated by the process of moving parcels seamlessly all over the planet. As The Heirloomist, my small business depends on these hard working humans and the FedEx system to safely handle our art and your heirlooms every day. So when the opportunity arose to celebrate the history of the company, it was a total yes.

It all started in 1973 with 14 aircraft and 186 packages. Pictured is a model of one of the first "Federal Express" planes we photographed in honor of #WorldPhotographyDay. Since the 70's, the business has modernized repeatedly-- both in name and operations. Simply known today as @FedEx, this #smallbusiness thanks you and your entire team for making sure we're able to celebrate the past in these modern times.
